For general use I can't see it being an issue, as for gaming no one uses a gaming laptop via battery alone.

Requires more power to drive the display. Wasteful for a notebook
Outside of that, it's silly to get a gaming notebook to only ever use it in one spot. Can build a small form factor pc for less generally. Never understood even as a child when we had a "gaming" notebook.

Lighter weight for LANs though rather than carrying around a whole system.

It's for people who don't always game in the same place I guess. I have a laptop with an eGPU dock I made for it so I can still have a gaming system when I've got a contract in a further out city, or through the part of the year I'm in Malta, but with a gaming laptop you could also play it plugged in on most trains, coaches, planes or whatever nowadays if you travel a lot.

So 300fps is now a thing? Damn son, I wasn't aware humans had tapped into their super human abilities in the last couple of years
And since when could a 2080 even manage that? Once again it'll all be about the minimums.
Seriously this is getting silly now.

I know why people do it. I just don't see the point as so few people actually use gaming laptops for mobility. They keep it in one spot and hardly move it. Defeats the point
