nothing else was hooked up at that time other than lights and fan hub. Thank goodness.

Faulty wiring. Unless the bottom of the controller had a blob of solder dropped over it. It's a simple distro block from the look of it, so should not fry for any other reason that being wired wrong.

M.2 SSD arrived for the back of the motherboard.
All the way from TeamGroup the mighty little Cardea m.2 SSD.
Comes with a pre-installed heatsink in nice dark red.




the rear of the case will have a window, so you can see the SSD and back of the board
