USB Type-C Cables are getting new logos for 40Gbps and 240W compatible cables

Faster, more powerful USB cables are coming!

Read more about USB Type-C's new cable specifications and logos.

I 100% Guarantee you they'll use a USB-C connector, but make some bullcrap proprietary in-between handshaking thing like they have with their Lightening cables. So unless the phone sees that, it won't work.

They aren't allowed. From my understanding, the EU ruled that all devices must conform to the USB C standards as created by the USB implementers forum.

But you are right, they will try to find a way around it. Most likely import devices and then sell their USB C Digital AV multiport adaptor by the masses.

That said, 240W USB C charging has a nice sound to it

They already use it on some models of iPads.

Aren't M1 macs already USB-C? And they fried themselves with non-Apple chargers, even if they were USB-C compliant.
