So if this is Polaris shrunk it should be cheap surely?

I'm still torn about the price. First rumour was cheap, second rumour was far more.

It's competing with a $500 card. Not sure why it should be cheap. I've seen plenty of nimrods say if it's more than $200 they will skip and buy 2080's. I wouldn't buy it at $500, I would say $400 should be the limit. It doesn't have RT or AI onboard.

Makes no sense. I don't get people's stupidity these days with tech.

It really depends on if this current iteration of Navi features Ray Tracing, if it doesn't they need to be a lot cheaper to be seen as offering good value. Similar pricing to NV but without Ray tracing won't cut it.

We will learn a lot on AMD's Horizon Gaming stream.

I get that, but people seem to be expecting super cheap cards. Not sure why.

It's not even like the RT or AI stuff is worth it, it's useless for at least 1 more year.

But still, people need to realize the price/performance, not the features/price. The features from Nvidia are not much to write about now.

Why? Quite simple. Mostly because I remember when the Radeon 4850 cost £125.

You'd think that was a lifetime ago but nope

It's bad enough when one company is taking the pi55 but when the other follows suit just because it's annoying.

Look at what Polaris launched at. That wasn't ten years ago.

This also seems like it will be hot, and looking at the cooler loud, so it's kinda aggravating they want Nvidia tax for it. Which, when you remove the features is what they're charging for it.

Nobody knows anything about it and people are already getting ready to throw it off if it's so much as $350. For a performance that's more than a $500 card.

That's a steal. No matter the features. If people want to choose Nvidia for RT at a $500 price point they are nuts. Let alone the AI portion that's also as bad currently. It makes no sense.

People at launch were saying how useless RTX was and now that AMD has a competitive product everybody is back on Nvidias gentitals saying if Navi doesn't have the price of $300 or less they mine as well get a $500 Nvidia card and get the extra features.. for a $500 card that can't even perfom half of it's features. Unless you want 30fps.

It makes no sense and the argument is beyond dumb



Edit: just saw the pricing and spec's. Still a better deal than Nvidia. People will pay the Nvidia tax and everything they said months back about waiting for Navi and calling RTX useless just proves Nvidia will never lose until consumers change but they won't.

Pretty early to make that call since reviews aren't out.

It's not very unlikely it isn't faster. Not really to early. They already have a card that's faster.

It's slightly faster than its price equivalent according to AMD's own material - when Super cards come out, what then?

I don't particularly care what happens. That's not now or when this launches.

As always they will just respond. Not sure what else you could expect.
