A PC Demo for Forza Horizon 4 is set to release later today

Well this just made my day. Forza Horizon series is the absolute BEST driving games EVER. NOTHING else even comes remotely close!

Gonna give this a whirl on my Xbox One X and my PC.

I've got the Ultimate Edition pre-ordered. Don't know whether to grab the demo or go in completely fresh on the 28th.

I bought one for winter. I think it was FH3? dunno. Did a bit of reading first as it's supposed to be ace.

Well I'm sure this game demo is locked down to 60fps, even with V-Sync off it just stays at 60 doesn't matter whether it's 1080, 1440 or 4K.

They will likely remove that cap once people start complaining lol. What one was it that did that before? it's free on the PC, IIRC.

OK so after some tinkering and searching MSGW forums for a solution as my limit "Variable" fps limit is greyed out I sorted it by changing the exe launch options.

So here we go.

4K Ultra everything with motion blur off.

1080p Ultra everything with motion blur off.

I'm not going to lie this game is pretty! Very pretty and the detail is incredible, so much so I pulled over and went to the pub don't worry I'll get a taxi home drink driving is no laughing matter (you could spill your beer). Anyways, I'd probably still be playing if it wasn't crashing at every second race or the sound wasn't so crackly (annoying).

So there you have it my 1080 - 4K experience of the new Demo.

Just for giggles ran the bench with everything maxed/extreme and 8xMSAA at 2560x1440P, Oddly I got basically the same results with AA off.

8700K @ 5GHz
1080 Ti 2050/6100

38FPS average.

Doesn't work for me. Says I cannot sign in. So deleted it. Oh well would have been fun to play the demo but I'm not buying it anyways so no biggie

I wonder how it will fare on a 1x @ 4k?

Probably reduced detail, not that it will matter from 17ft away.

Redid the benchmark after I noticed my GPU was running at X1 speed the whole time due to a pin connection issue inside the PCI-E slot, This happened due to me pushing the card up a tiny bit to try and combat GPU sag which resulted in several of the pins not making contact with the card, Nothing broke or bent they just weren't connecting.

Apparently a common issue when people try and combat GPU sag by pushing the card up from the PCI bracket side, Odd the motherboard manufacturers haven't fixed this by making the pins inside the PCIE slots protrude a bit more for fuller contact.

Fully working now, Max settings, 1440P, 8xMSAA, Damn good performance.

Find the limit fps option and select variable, even with vsync off it still limits your frames to 60. ;)
