Radeon Software Integer Scaling Tested - This is how it's done!

My HD7870XT might only have a few weeks left in it(Depending on how those 5600 leaks go) but this is a welcome addition all the same, finally these older PC games will no longer look like the 360p YouTube quality setting.
 
I find the scaled up images with no integer scaling to be superior, and since that's probably how the game will actually look on the screen, I probably won't go for integer scaling if I play old games. But I'm sure that big pixel fans, of which there are many, will enjoy the feature.

It ultimately depends on whether or not you like the extra blur. I prefer the sharper pixels, The blending can help some pixel art, but I'd get sick of blurry writing very quickly.

Crisp pixels, just as they were designed to be viewed on CRTs.

Though, scale things up too big and it starts to get a bit of a problem..

Yeah this is why I like it, had a 60kg multiscan-CRT till I had to move a couple years ago because of this, high res LCDs with their interpolation ruin content designed for 360/480p/576p, doesn't just look worse with the artefacts and smudging, but sometimes nothing like the designers intended, almost in game breaking ways at times(It's way harder to spot small detail/distant in game things with that interpolation blurring every layer together). Though this is much more important for old consoles than old PC games.

At 4K it's really potent since 360p(x6), 432p(x5), 540p(x4), 720p(x3) and 1080p(x2) all integer scale perfectly with the full screen.

I unfortunately can't tell if this is meant to be sarcastic. It makes sense that it is (mocking the blurriness of CRTs), but can't be sure.
It's not about the presence of blurrinessmore about the "accuracy" of the blurriness. Interpolation means the "blurryness" on LCDs is very inconsistent across the screen and in each dimension, which creates weird artefacts comparable to video compression.

(Though you could definitely get some super crisp multiscan CRTs, they used segmented lines rather than round dots for pixels and could express a wide range of resolutions essentially natively by reprogramming their scan behaviour, some models[Like my long missed FW900] could be pushed to 4K if you dropped the frame rate enough [This was a 2003 model that came at 1440p@85Hz stock, 720p@180Hz or 1800p@75Hz were both possible])
