Crosshair VI 1403 Official Bios has Released!

Geetings Peeps,

Asus has finally released the official bios update containing the 1.0.0.6 Agesa update and stability improvements. I noticed a marked improvement right away! Get over to the Asus website and download it now!!!

I plan on getting this onto my system ASAP. I hope it offers an improvement over the earlier 1.0.0.6 beta.
 
I've been quite fortunate with the Crosshair VI, Ram has worked fine at 3000MHz and 3200MHz even on bios 1002, Will be interesting to see if there have been any other improvements.
 
BIOS is updating now. I will let you guys know if I come across and interesting changes.

There have been, trust me. :) I was running my ram at 3466 for the last few bios revisions. 1403 even fixed my cold boot issue, at long last! Lot of guys have had success at higher mem speeds with 1403, but that doesn't necessarily translate into better performance. It's still up for debate which is better, higher speed, or less speed with tighter timings.

I definitely noticed a bit of a performance boost. EX; I went from 1666 to 1705 in Cinebench just pushing my mem from 2666 to 3066. The samsung B die is flexible so I'm going to see if I can get 3200 on this new bios.

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700
Mem: Adata XPG 3000
GFX: Asus ROG gtx 1070
 
Well, did you ever get it to 3200? I don't mean to be contrary, but can't understand why so many on here never report back, as that is what this forum is for.

Thanks for the comment. I just ordered some 3200mhz g skill ram, an asus crosshair vi hero and a ryzen 7 1700. Can't wait to get it all together. I haven't built a system in a very long time. I've lived in the islands for the last 16 years. So I've used a gaming laptop for a very long time. I'm very excited to get a powerful desktop system up and running.

Did anyone get a -20 degrees on the CPU temps. My idle temp is now 23 (before they were around 43) and the room temperature is 27. :D

The CPU is 1700X, so there is that dumb 20 degree nonsense and the skim is on auto by default.

Any ideas, fixes?

Thats just the offset thats been removed. AMD added 20c onto the 'X' cpu's

Id ignore the 'idle' temps though they have always been iffy

Sorry for now posting sooner. My Adata XPG 3000 memory was able to overclock to 3260 MHZ with full stability.

Cinebench Score went from 1666 to 1720

I am able to get a stable overclock of 4.0Ghz on the CPU, but the voltage required is higher than I would like so I kept it lower.



Ryzen 7 1700 @ 3.875GHZ
Adata XPG 3000 AX4U300038G16-DRZ

I've got just the same issue on my Ryzen test rig. CPU temps are crazy, jumping from 27 to 45 on idle back and forth this causes CPU cooler - AIO Corsair H115i increase RPM and noise. Interesting is there any way to get stable and actual CPU temp?

Change the fan profile = Problem solved.
