This may seem a bit obvious, but maybe try to get on-board graphics working? If you get anything on the screen, then you can eliminate the mobo and be sure that the graphics card is dead.

Thanks mate. Those are LED sunlight sticks, so they won't blow up like your cathodes. I used to have cathodes too, but all the forum members flamed me for having them :P
