Yay for Orca 2

Congrats Tom for finally moving forward with Orca 2. It's amazing how those 4 years have gone by.

I know you are waiting for the 1080 Ti, or whatever they call it. Will you be attending CES in...

Nice but obsolete - the LG 38UC99W is where it's at now. A single curved screen is so much more elegant than 3 flat screens.

BTW: Where is the Titan XP review Tom? Did NV not send you a sample?

RAID0 for the sensible

That's why I chose to put three 750GB drives in RAID0 for my games library - PRICE!!! 3 x $80 versus $700 ($900 I think when it first released) is a big chunk of change for many builders.

Now...

USB headers

Tom the board has 4 internal USB headers - 11-12 are located where the ROG-EXT connector is. If you're not using the Front Base you can use the 8+1 pins like a regular USB 2.0 header pair. Try it...

It'll be a decade before this stuff reaches the grubby paws of gamers.

nVidia are going to have to do more than just halve the RAM to distinguish the 980Ti, otherwise it will make the Titan X a rather pointless SKU.

My guess is the 980Ti will have the 6GB RAM but...

Agreed. UAC is a resource hog and a nuisance. Keeping it on just extends boot times and has never done anything to protect me more than what my router, AV and firewall already do.

Bleeding edge will cut you

My only gripe with PCI drives is that they take away a precious slot that you could be using for a GPU. Don't get me wrong - I'm a fan of performance. But 4 GPU's in 4-way SLI for me trumps any SSD...

Maybe the new drivers won't allow an overclock, but there's no reason why a GPU BIOS flash with a higher stock clock cannot get around the problem. That's what I did on my old Alienware M18x anyway...

How much radiator do I need?

I've already got my CPU being cooled by a 80mm thick 240 rad - no problems there.

Here's my dilemma:

I'm looking to add a pair of watercooled 980's to the loop but only have the space in the...

27" is far too small for 2560x1440 times four. That's roughly 220PPI - an impossible figure to work with at 100% scaling unless you plant your nose <12 inches from the panel. I've worked with 15.6"...
