can you post a screenshot of memset ??? also , you "shouldnt" need 2.2V for DDR2 800 that you are running your ram at right now . Mine run DDR2 925 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1V

i would go with the motherboard upgrading route....

i would go with the motherboard upgrading route. TBH a Q6600 will be fast enough for everyday use and most of the gaming if you oc it. I would just look around for a used/refurb good P45 or X48 board...

Intels love high bandwidth , and AMDs work better with tighter timings . At least with the C2D and C2Q series , not sure about i3/5/7s yet.

not your motherboard. Its the ICs the ram uses. The microns like higher volts , the elpida H ICs do not. However 5-5-5-18 at higher mhz will definitely help out if you are on an intel platform...
