Bios question

A friend just purchased a i7 8700k to put into my Asus z170 i "gaming" motherboard, it's running Bios version .2002 am I going to need to update this or will it be ok to just install and run, thanks....

I thought it was more the fact that you get more functionality with the i3 and less about the iGPU quality.
