I agree with James. A lot of 2.1 sets give you booming bass and high tones but loose most mid tones.

Everything sounds so much better on a pair of monitors.

I would save up a little more money...

The Z series are just as good as the Xonars and also use high quality parts.
They made some bad cards in the past and now people see the "Creative" name and automatically say they suck.

You could clamp it on the kink itself like you said so it stays open till the fittings arrive.

Monsoon makes some nice looking 45° fittings so like James said get 2 of those and you can run the tubing pretty straight from the cpu block.
