Haha so youíve also come to the realization that you donít need anymore than 8 cores? Heck, even an 5600X kicks ass amongst the 5900X and 5950X lol.

Dicehunter 27-03-21 04:33 PM

Pretty much, Games don't really see much improvement after around 4-6 cores so anything more than 8 for my personal use is a waste, I prefer the higher clocks and IPC.

Well it is so very easy to spread, I'd say it has the consistency of slightly warmed up butter, Really easy to work with as it also comes with a spreader, Temp on my 5800X right now with all system/cooler fans set to 800RPM and with a 280mm AIO is 34'c-35'c in a warmish room.

Is that in idle or during load? Benchmark or gaming load?...

While web browsing, Goes to around 50'c ingame but remember that's with all system fans running very slow at 800RPM.

KingNosser 30-03-21 11:35 AM

Good to know I picked MX5 up a week or so back :)

Dawelio 30-03-21 06:41 PM

So I recieved this nice little treat today :)

Dicehunter 30-03-21 07:06 PM

Very cool, I was thinking of getting one but the amount of effort I'd have to put in to try and get one in the UK on top of the price gouging even stores like OCUK are doing is just not worth it, I'll stay with the 2080 Ti until next year.

Yeah, considering I placed my order on November 19th 2020 and recieved it today - 4 months later, then you're probably safe with your 2080 Ti. It's still a beast at the end of the day.

it measures how RGB your case is. If it was in Dicehunters case the whole unit would be glowing as it cant measure the amount of RGB he uses. :D

Isn't that actually a literal tech support?

Excalabur50 16-04-21 08:51 PM

It's a GPU support bracket with RGB it's pretty good actually as they've added an extension piece if unlike my case you don't have a powersupply shroud, it comes with double sided tape to fix it in place, and it comes with an RGB passthrough cable, they normally sell for about 30-40 bucks but I managed to snag it for 18 on an Easter sale, and as my 3080 is such a monster it's just lifted the slight sag out of it, and I'm really happy about that.

That's a solid Keyboard. I have the Grey one with white leds (mx red) at home. I later got the white one with mx black for work. Didn't like the generic stuff we have at work so got my own keyboard.

I think this is the most I have ever spent on a monitor but well worth it, The LG 34GN850, Nano IPS 1Ms 34" 144Hz overclockable to 160Hz G-Sync Compatible, Going up on my Silverstone desk arm ^_^

Yeah, I’ve used it’s little brother, the 27GL850, for years now. LG really does great monitors :)

I think this one came out towards the latter part of 2020 so still fairly kind of "new" ^_^

I hope the silverstone can handle the weight. Mine certainly couldnt cope with the PG35VQ. Have to use default stand :(

The PG35VQ is a chunky monitor, really hefty back. The LG is slightly slimmer in this regard.

Yep it'll cope, It weighs 5.5KG without the stand and the Silverstone arm can take a max of 12KG.

According to ASUS ROG own website:

Net Weight with Stand: 13.6 Kg
Net Weight without Stand: 10 Kg
Gross Weight: 20.4 Kg

How did you exactly weigh it though? I've always gone of the manufacturers specced weight when looking at VESA mounting it. If it says it's fine, but doesn't, then warranty on it. Due to false advertisement.

Weighing it I don't think is a good indication for various of reasons.

Weighed myself with and without the monitor :D basic subtraction. Not accurate but close enough.

Yeah but yours has the extra dimming zone LED layer, Heat sink etc... all that adds up.

Damn, Warchild has my dream monitor, I refuse to pony up the $$$ though, LOL!
