Removing that bumper was like night and day on braking. I have only been using the default setup steering ratio at 17:0:1 with restrictor set to full and top speed on final drive set to max. I'll give your base setup a try and see if i can get the time down further.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll get to it once my new table gets here, for the most part I've followed the advice to depress the pedal to 80% when calibrating but I suppose I could go lower, we're using ABS after all so sensitivity isn't all that much of an issue. I'd just like to be able to slowdown without pushing my rig across the room :lol: I could also swap the clutch for the brake but I'm not sold on the whole left foot braking thing as it just feels all unnatural. I will be happy when I'm sat comfortable in the correct position rather than upright at a desk, but until then keep those times coming in fellas.

Pedal already feels a million times better, might swap the brake and clutch springs over at some point as the brake one feels a little more "bitey". Just looking at the shifter mod which I just know is going to end up in the basket.

Brake needs to be way stiffer. I'd think twice about swapping with the clutch. My pedals are on carpet so they grip pretty well however my chair swivels so I end up with a sore back after any more than 7 or 8 laps.

Well I've pulled the trigger on a shifter mod and got the clutch and throttle spacers too, this new hobby could get pricey.

the funny thing is if you follow the ghost you will see how I borked up 2 corners. Especially Turn 10. Which is just before the point you start the hot lap.

I can easily shave 0.200 off my time.

Manual is definitely the way to go. I saw a video by Shaun Cole from The Simpit showing how manual is faster which seems weird but I am consistently faster with Manual over paddle shift every time.


edit - Wraith some of those mods look interesting. I like the idea of the USB adapter for the pedals. I have mine under my desk alongside the Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals but I move the wheel out of the way and clamp it to the side of the desk when I'm not using it. The downside is the pedals are attached to the wheel base so it's a right PITA with cables going everywhere and can't be good for the connections when they're at the limits of stretch. This would mean the pedals can be plugged in on their own and I can basically just put the wheel in the cupboard when I'm not using it.

Paddle shift is slower because you have almost a full second in neutral between gears. With the gear shifter, there is only a miniscule neutral period.

Finally got the wheel installed in a comfortable position, 3 quick laps and I've dropped 2.5s off my last time..

Now for some fine tuning and vehicle dynamic changes. Sub 2:20:00 incoming.

I found steering ratio at 14:1 was a good balance for cornering.

Getting quicker, this is hard for me as I'm a consistent lapper for racing not a time trialer, I can lap at a constant 2:25:00 all day long but when you're pushing for the fastest time I come unstuck and push way too hard :lol: I've had a tweak and found a couple more seconds I'm now lapping at 2:24:00 - 2:23:00 so my setup is working need to tweak further for more acceleration now that I know where the grip is.

I would suggest while you are getting used to the wheel to switch to manual now. Good to get used to both at once.
