Project Cars Monthly Challenge - June 2018
We're back and still motoring, it's been a while but thought it was time to get the challenges back on track. Same rules as before, now Junes challenge is inspired by TTLs recent purchase and should be a good old laugh, we're taking the pony home to America to give her a good old work out. Further to this I shall be starting a new Assetto Corsa monthly challenge too so those of you with that title keep your eyes peeled it'll be a little different with much tougher restrictions (Pros only). The rules are simple, Use the car and track chosen for the challenge and post your times in the thread as a screen shot of the in game leader board, it's that simple. All valid times will be added to the main Lap Times board. Your challenge for the month of June is as follows Road America with the Ford Mustang Boss 302 R1. https://i.imgur.com/NjOcZY6.jpg Warchild - 2:16.447 (Wheel) World #1 Bonkers Mental - 2:17:109 (Controller) Jimma47 - 2:19:710 (Wheel) Wraith - 2:21:810 (Wheel) Daiyus - 2:24:073 (Controller) Russler - 0:00:000 (Controller) Korreborg - 0:00:000 (Controller) Enjoy! For those that need validation of their place on the leaderboard check >>here<< Best of luck and lets see who can tame the pony by the end of June. |

Oooh. I'll have to get Project CARS reinstalled for this!
|
Hmmm think you may have to update to (Wheel) Wraith! Looking forward to the AC challenge as well.

Alot of people ditch the clutch and use this for braking, but I think that's pants! I'd suggest during the calibration, depress the brake to 80-90% on the axis, and use this as your max brake force. Should help you. As for AC. You can create a voting system. Highlight 3 or 4 cars let the people vote. Most popular will be that car for the month. And then create a new one for people to vote for following month, will give you plenty of time to get the votes in. |

First crack. Default setup with soft tyres and not a clean lap by any means.
Man this thing loves to back it in and powersliding around the horseshoe part is heaps of fun (but maybe not the quickest way) In-car camera, full manual gearbox. Crappy office chair and desk mounted G29 wheel, pedals and shifter. I still brake way too late. What's an Apex? https://i.imgur.com/JOuZor9.jpg |

Took a 30 minute stab at this tonight. Nowhere near optimal driving (haven't played in months) and the car is stock so there's plenty to work with still. Nice car though.

Nice! I'm struggling at the moment, though I will say this. In the settings set the Weight Jacker to 0.0. ;)

Hey Guys. OOeerr a new monthly challenge :) . best get a few laps in me thinks :)
|
Get on it Bonkers!!!
My wheel is here!! Just set it up and calibrated just how I want it, thown the stang around the track a few times and pow instant 10 second gain. Now, time for some serious laps and car tuning. https://i.imgur.com/MwJL6AH.jpg |
Shame it still says custom tuning. Managed a 2:19:xx with just changing the steering ratio. Not really fussed on the car though, seems too much power for the handling.

There's a piece of rubber inside the break its what gives the stiffness as you hit that point |

Pushed the time up to 2:17:304
Still plenty to clean up. |
reinstalling Project cars this morning and maybe getting a few practise laps in. :)
|
Really don't like this car :(
Fun track though! We need to get more people joining in on this. I tried running up against the ghost in the top 3. Not matter what I tune, they are faster than me and third place even uses default. How is that even possible? I even take the last bend to perfection but still don't hit the same speeds. I have to brake later and hard to maintain the competition. |
