I like my desktop simple. I have just 3 icons on mine and one is the recycle bin.

That Vaio would work great for my mum and those BIG icons would be good for her.

Congrats. Let us know how it works out for you.

I have a couple things I may sell in the summer to get money to get a card. Some yard stuff I don't use anymore, like a very large Troy-Built 10 HP chipper/shredder.

Meh, I couldn't give a crap about the box. It can be flaming pink or brown for all I care. :p

As long as the hardware inside it performs as advertised, I'm happy.

It's a huge step up from my old 560 GTX. It's nice to be able to max out eye candy in games again.

My Plantronics GameCom 380 headset, which is much better than I expected, plus its a major step in the right direction from a set of bog standard earphones.

Also, my Sharkoon 1337 Gaming mouse mat... the mat has a 14 x 10 inch surface which is more than enough room for maneuverability during play, and it's easy on the wrist with a minimal height of only 1.4 mm

Total cost to me - 8.50 :D

Ran across this pic I took months ago. For Christmas my sibs and mum will now get me gift cards or cash, since they have no idea what I want. The gift cards are always for Lowes ( www.lowes.com ) and I head to the store to get a little something. Kobalt is the Lowes store brand, forever guaranteed. I used to buy all Sears Craftsman hand tools due to their quality and lifetime guarantee, but they have become asswipes now when you try to get anything replaced anymore. Used to be you'd walk in a store and get something replaced, no questions asked, now you have to debate with them. Also their end product is not as...uh...hmmmm..."finished" looking I guess I'll say, as Kobalt and other high end tools sold primarily to mechanics. It is good stuff, just not as polished and refined looking I guess.

I got these items for a small toolbox I put together, something I can grab and take with me when I need a few tools. I have some other stuff, like a razor knife, wire cutters and needle nose pliers and such in the box too. These tools are a little unique.

The ratchet has an extendable handle for more torque...also the handle rotates so that if you get in a tight place where it is hard to move it to ratchet you rotate the handle to turn the socket. Then the small set of sockets are universal, they fit different shapes (hex/square/star) and are US and Metric all in one, so no need for sets for each. Came with the bit holder and bits. The pliers are very handy, like channel locks without the channels...they auto adjust and they grip very tightly with little effort and have US and Metric markings on them so I could grip something and look at the scale and see what the thickness is of what I am gripping with them...US on one side, Metric on the other side. Then the screwdriver set. Ratcheting, standard sizes and a mini "jewelers" size. These are also speed drivers...hold onto the blue anodized part as you rotate the handle clockwise and counter clockwise the bit turns the same direction, depending on how you set it. You can screw things in twice as fast or unscrew twice as fast. Really neat. Could have used these when I wired electrical control panels where I may wire thousands of PLC I/O connections a day...I used a stick power screwdriver, but you had to be extremely careful and final hand tighten. I was always the guy with a handy gadget to make my job easier...faster too. :)

Damn sweet. Love a big case, I think I feel that way in part because I go back to the day when everything in a system was BIG...5.25 floppy, full height hard drives and you'd put many in a system as you could afford to buy another 80 Meg...even when we got to the 1 Gig's. BTW, they (all the experts) said at 1 Gig HDDs had reached their limits, physics were such that they could not get denser.
