So after updating Windows last week (It was a big one to the latest version) I cannot shutdown my PC. I hit shutdown and all it does it log me out but the PC stays on. Only way to turn it off is with the button. Any suggestions?

Our son would like a PC in order to play games. The availability of really cheap/free/good children's games on PC is far superior than current games consoles. I am going to use this opportunity to upgrade my current PC and put some of my current components into his PC. I'm going to buy myself...
