I think you could be right.
I can see some Chinese manufacturer undercutting them making just gaming GPUs.
I also think the AI bubble is going to burst for Nvidia, AI is not going away but someone will find a way to get it to run on much cheaper hardware.
My card itself is very good and runs quiet most of the time.
Having said that I don't like the 3xxx, 4xxx and 5xxx series as Nvidia have not shown much innovation in the hardware forcing us to pay a lot of money for a single huge card with no alternative.
In the past with mGPU you could buy...
ATM I am just taking it easy.
The reason I stopped posting on OcUK was when they upgraded it the software made it very difficult for me to edit threads.
I like the screen but the rest is not very good.
Would be nice if there was a 420mm version.
Tubing is awful, it should come out the bottom of the unit and go to the end of the Rad like it is on the ProArt AIO.
Fans don't look nice and I would swap them out for Phantek D30s as you can then...
I set a fan profile on the BIOS and at the moment it runs very quiet as the CPU (9950X3D) does not get that hot.
Having said that I have not had a chance to run something very graphics intensive so I will only find out then.
Here is a pic of the build almost finished.
When I installed the drivers for the card, they offered to install PhysX even though a 5090 can not run it lol.
If no one bought Nvidia's high end cards I don't think it would bother them.
They would just allocate the chips that went into the 5090s to their professional cards where the profit margins are even higher.
The reason I think the Nvidia 5xxx series are crap is because they are an engineering...
Update
I have gone with the Air cooled Astral 5090 as it will look better in the build.
The main reason I have bought an Asus card is because of the monitoring software they have for the power connector.
I really do think the 5xxx series is the worst Nvidia has produced ever, unfortunately...
They were talking about the air cooled version and problems with the forth fan and then someone said there were problems with the AIO version too but did not go into detail.
I am looking to build a gaming PC and want to include an AIO Astral rather than doing a proper water cooling setup.
As in the title
Asus Astral 5090 AIO Are there any problems with this card?
I read on another forum that there may be problems with this card, is this true?
Thanks
Thanks for pointing that out.:)
On a more serious note, in the past there have been cases of GPUs having parts of their die still enabled where the Company has not bothered or forgot to disable them.
What is a lot more difficult to explain is why does a GPU like the 5090 have missing ROPs on...
I have not bought a GPU for a very long time, I am still using 3XXX series cards in my PCs.
I really don't like the high end Nvidia 4xxx and 5xxx cards due to their high power consumption, massive coolers and the dodgy power connector.
I also won't pay scalpers prices for anything as I think...
