Hey, i was looking at my ram usage and wondered how it works with dual channel. If i'm using 4gb out of 8gb will it take 2 gb from each stick or all 4 from just one? any help would be great!

Hey, i have 4GB of ram and i want to upgrade to 8 so should i get just another single channel stick so i would have x2 4GB single channel sticks or get a 8GB dual channel kit. Your opinions and if you could tell me some pros and cons that would be great!
