If I over-clock what is the best way of hammering the machine to test it? How hard does F@H hammer it, for example?

Giving my machine a good clean ready for the New Year I notice that the fan on the above is not running, also it is rather stiff, and does not spin freely. I realise that this may be characteristic of the fan, but don't know. :o It is not giving me any trouble, but should it run...
