This one looks interesting and quite new, but I couldn't find any tests/reviews online:
JGINYUE B650M Night Devil
While mini-ITX version fit like a glove on AMD's 8700G (and I suppose Strix Point-based successor that is coming), this one has a way beefier VRM and more I/O.
Yes, it's PCIEv4...
As Mikrotik CRS812-8DS-2DQ-2DDQ is showing us, faster small switches are coming. And price is quite reasonable.
But I can see no NICs that would fit that equation for prosumers, SOHOs etc.
Are there new models to come ?
What happened to Intel's E830 ?
Isn't Chelsio supposed to show something...
I was wondering why has AMD not adopted CUDIMM and MRDIMM that Intel is using and that gave them an edge with the memory bandwidth, at least at present.
It looks like they have been working on something better - HB-DIMM.
AMD's HB-DIMM patent
On the surface, it looks similar to MRDIMM approach...
I understand whole GPU situation, but:
AMD RX 9xxx was supposed to bring lower prices of dGPUs. Which hasn't materialized yet...
Markup in EU is totally insane. E800+ for RX9070XT... Yikes. Why is that ? EU has not announced tariff war with china AFAIK... 🙄
Are these expected to come down or...
I've found this on Uniko's hardware ( you'll probably need a translation extension to translate it online):
PCIe GEN4X1 10 Gbps LAN
It uses well known elcheapo Acquantia line (Realtek of 10GbE world) that is now under Intel brand.
It's ACQ113 NIC controller, not that different from the rest...
I would think that the spacing should match. And the shape mismatchshould be solved on both sides (bo9ttom side of the CPU and top side of the PCB with a soldermask with circular pad holes.
Why would I need either ?
Take an 9800X for example, flip it around, apply solder mask over the bottom side with circular pad openings over it and reball it like you would reball an ordinary BGA. After that, one should be able to solder it just like a BGA.
As I said, this was a submersion cooling, which is not what I'm looking for.
I'm talking about liquid cooling just like watercooling but using oil instead of water.
It used to be promising, but now I can't find it anywhere.
Well, outside a version of immersion cooling, but that's not what I'm looking for.
Is anyone doing liquid cooling with oil as a heat transfer medium ?
I wonder if anyone has tried (after delidding) soldering 9950X directly to the PCB, by skipping the AM5 socket mechanism ?
Those things have considerable wire lengths and pins are bent to serve as springs, so there are considerable inductances and resistances involved.
Soldering the chip...
