Blu-Ray just too darn expensive? Sony is apparently releasing a cheaper version for the masses.

Pfft, so many years time they`ll be £50, if they`re still about.
I can remember the 100s they wanted for the first 2x cdroms.

showing your age there mate  i remember buying my first 1x dvd writer, £250 i paid! now look at them. (on a side note, its still going strong, good ol pioneer!)

i think blu-ray has much potential, h/e if sony wants to succeed they still needs to bring the prices down..... 599-499 for a freakin player is ridiculous, i think we all know that a blue laser costs more h/e the ratio is better for hd dvd atm.
