Lets just say his K700i doesn't really like the conditions he uses it in, hes a builder. It gets dust under the screen, gets scratched and gets wet etc.

Any phones out there designed to be water resistant, shock proof etc. but not total crap like those old nokias... Cheers

Yep! I know loads of oil rig workers and builders that use that as their work Phone, and praise it's robustness (all nokias are pretty well built anyway).

Your dad should like the 5140 anyway. It's got a spirit level built into it.
