You can get a 1070 for a bit more.
Bit difference build quality wise etc etc etc. The Strix 1060 will be the top end of the 1060's built like a tank (basically a 1070 PCB and cooler)
Yeah but it's like I said, you've got a Rolls Royce with a Fiesta engine.
The 1070 absolutely slaughters the 1060. I know what I'd buy but fair enough people may still buy this card
It will do its 25% more card.

I wouldn't go for the ASUS 1080 / 1070 or 1060 ROG Strix... Since Tom doesn't remove the coolers anymore and take snapshot, you can't see it, but one of the memory modules is not actively cooled. I don't like that, not one bit. Especially when reviewers say how nice the memory modules overclock, suffice to say, one chip has a much bigger chance of dying on you.
In fact; the only cards that I have seen on review sites that do, are the EVGA FTW/SC and MSi Gaming X/Z

He may not be allowed to for various reasons with the Nvidia stuff. He did with AMDs 480, but then again there's not much to it..

:huh: I'm sure that TTL remove the cooler on the RX480 and i'm sure he's done it on the MSI cards.
I know I might sound pro AMD here, but for the price of this 1060 Strix, you can get the R9 Fury which surely would be better for less money

I wouldn't agree with that with the ASUS GTX1060 Strix you get more memory and lower power usage.
I'm sure there's people that couldn't give a flying toss to what memory it uses some people go on the memory size on the card.
If power efficiency is your thing then fair play but if the 1060 is offering around 980 performance and the R9 Fury is offering above that for less (going off previous bench videos).
I wouldn't mind seeing an R9 air cooled fury vs a 1060 at 1440P and 4K comparisons.
4GB is enough at present. Not ran into any games that I've played that requires more...yet.

I have played games that uses more than 4GB of memory, More & more new games coming out are going to use more than 4GB of memory.
Games of course will use more than 4GB memory over time. It's naive to think they won't.
The here and now, 4GB appears to be just about enough
For the future then obviously look at better options (ie 8GB...not stingy 6GB which looks like you're discount shopping)
It's down to how long you keep your GPU..Most people I know keep it for about 18 months and then pass which doesn't really mean to look at future proofing.

I'd also add to this less heat and the fury is an older card the 1060 new card with new drivers that will only improve over time
