I`ve noticed this, and I don`t know if it`s anything to do with the following..
When I bought it, it was just plain EAX - but with more recent drivers and game settings, it comes up as EAX 2. - this
could result in the software trying to output something the hardware can`t handle.
(however) Sometimes I notice, even with 2g, that it happens more when the pc hasn`t been restarted for ages. But it would seem that u restart and it sounds better.
I am semi tempted to say to install the very old drivers for this and see how they work.
(only because if it 100% works for u, then I`d do it

)
On another hand, I have a recycled SB5.1 here that I`m hoping to install into a new build this week, so I could try the drivers out then.

This card can support EAX3 or is it 2.. I can't remeber. But when I use any type of EAX it goes spazz and gives some horrible static/fuzzy sounds..
