Project Hulk?

Hey guys, making a quick little post on my rig, as I finally feel that it is "complete" and at a stage that I'm proud to call it my PC.

When I first got the parts, I was very much function over form, and this was extenuated by the fact that I didn't have a lot of money. While I made the system semi color matching, I didn't bother too much with the aesthetics, and that shows in some of the pictures (having orange noctua fans in a green build!).

Over the course of the following 2 years, I slowly got bored of the way the system looked, and sought after things that I could do to it. The performance was more than adequate, and while the enthusiast in me wanted more, I didn't really need it.

I started with trying my hand at making a custom midplate (that didn't end up looking too good). I then tried my hand at custom cables, as my 24pin especially was particularly eye watering to look at.

The next big thing I tried was to pain parts of my case. I had heard of plastidip on the internet, and when Linus' video on plastidiping video card came out, it pushed me over the edge. I grabbed myself a blaze green, and gunmetal grey, and I think it turned out pretty good.

At this point, the system was pretty static until the spring of this year, when I finally got the funds to try out watercooling (not a very cheap thing to do). this really pulled the aesthetic of the computer together, as I could get rid of the god awful looking noctua fans, and replace them with very nice looking EK water blocks.

While the system was looking quite nice, the box I was using to hold up the water pump was not very elegant. This got me planning out a v2 of the PSU midplate, and I do have to say, it turned out very nicely, for something I measured with a 15cm ruler, and pieces of paper.

Hope you have liked the transformation of my system, into the beautiful machine it is now (imo).
I'm at uni now, and was not able to bring the desktop with me, so I won't be able to add anymore pictures than the ones I have already taken... (getting over the PC withdrawal as well XD)

wow man, you went from ok, than a sudden moment it got weird with lots of colours and than finished with a beauty! But may i ask

Why use a colourd coolant when using black tubing? I do like the res popping out a bit, just a thought ^^

My thoughts exactly. When I was sitting beside my system when I had the zotac card, and the orange noctua cooler, and thinking how it was suppose to be a black, and green build... That was when I realized I had to do something drastic, and that ended up being watercooling it...

My train of thought behind the colored fluid and black tubing, was that it would be better to have not enough green than too much, and I though that the green in the res was just the right amount of green, and having transparent tubing might have been too much.

you did make it very classy if you look from what you came. I do like it, its something different from what we usually see

Nice - I like the Black tubing. Really makes the Res stand out as a highlight.
Also like what you've done with the PSU shroud. Are you going to replace the window now it's not really an air cooling case? Would give a nice view of all your work.

The holes in the side panel still cracks me and my friends up, since I've gone through all the work of modding other parts of the case, but haven't touched the one thing people who get the case always change...

Since I don't have ready access to acrylic, and machines to form it, I will likely have to buy a predone one, once I ship my desktop to here.

Yeah it was one of the parts that everyone seemed to have an opinion on. I don't mind it if you have fans but a lot of people don't like the compromised look if there are no fans mounted. (I have a 500R so no window just a 200mm fan) I've toyed with the idea of putting a window in but it's quite warm here so leaving the side fan on saves a few degrees of heat stress.
