My Conroe Build

Im building myself a new computer and thought I would come here just before I order all the parts to make sure I'm getting all the "right" parts. I am kind of iffy on the Motherboard, Hard Drive, Monitor, Graphics Card and PSU. If anyone has any different parts that they think would make my pc a little better than please suggest. I have about a 2500$ limit but i'm trying to keep it around 2000$ I was thinking about waiting for DX 10 to come out and see what that veils to get a higher end graphics card.

When are you planning on buying?

Theres a few price drop comming pretty soon (e6600).

All looks good bar the raptor. Just get a 200GB SATA2 drive would be best, probably for the same price as a single raptor 150 you could get 2x200gb and RAID them. The price of raptors in stupid.

For the graphics card the 7950GT (NOT the GT X2) is at a nice price atm, but again theres pricedrops on the near horizan and the DX10 cards will be more affordable. So depending on urgancy wait and get a 8800GTS.

Yeah I don't necessarily want to go for a cheaper product just thinking about the quality of it and if I should maybe take a step to a different product if it had different qualities to it that may be useful. And I'm planning on ordering all the stuff later today.

I'd say get an 8800GTS for sure and perhaps scope some cheaper RAM?

Also one SATA 300 (or SATA 2) drive like a Seagate 7200.10 or a Hitachi 7KXX would be a better investment than a Raptor and a whole lot cheaper.

Anyone know of a good case that isn't too expensive that I can order off of Tiger Direct. I could care less about what my computer looks like I just want performance. Put all my stuff on a rubber mat for all I care
