The SilverStone Raven series of cases have always been always been a fairly unique case design, the rotated orientation of the chassis was something that was praised by many enthusiasts but didn't come without compromises to both space efficiency and cable management.
The Raven RV05 is a design that eliminates many of these issues. Lets see how it looks.
This iteration of the SilverStone's Raven chassis will be smaller than all previous Ravens, with the exception of the Mint ITX RVZ01, while still being able to contain full ATX Motherboards and giant GPUs including AMD's R( 295X2.
SilverStone do this be removing the 5.25" drive bays in their entirety, drastically shortening this rather long case, this change is very welcome given how few of us actually use an optical drive. However Disk users will be able to install a single slim slot-loading optical drive if required.
I do like this move, as an owner of the Raven RV03 I do not use many of the Raven's 7 total 5.25" drive bays, leaving so much unused space. Also the lack of these drive bays makes the front of the case be made from one single piece, which looks much cleaner than my RV03.
The case will still use SilverStone famous 180mm Air Penetrator fans as a bottom intake, maintaining positive air pressure inside the case and reducing dist buildup.
There are also a few iterative refinements compared to their previous Rotated Raven's including, a Bottom dust filter which is removable from the front and increased space above the rear IO for superior cable management. SilverStone seem to be listening to their fans here.
