Oblivion Prefromance.

I have Oblivion.

I was hoping I could run it at full seeing as im above the minimum and recomended specs.

How come I can't?

Is it a badly written game engine or something?

Or is just my system is struggleing?

you need a pretty powerfull system to run Obv on full, just look at the FPS some of the top end cards pull off in their reviews in OC3D's review section. I do think there are Nvidia drivers designed for use with oblivion though

nVidia + Oblivion = bad FPS.

If you want good Oblivion performance you need a X19XXX card.

Even the uber high-end cards don't do as well

As Llwyd said I think pretty much all our card reviews feature Oblivion as a game test

See if any of this helps. Lots of decent tweaks in there, such as giving the grass slighly less volume.

I'm really surprised about posts like this.

I can run the game really well with my system specs (which I class as modest)

AMD 64/3000+

ASUS A8V Deluxe mobo

1Gb GeIL PC3200/DDR400 Dual Channel

Club 3D nVidia 6600GT/128

I'm running at 1024x768

High textures

View distance maxed out

Distant trees at max

All reflections enabled in the ini

I'm getting between 20-30 FPS when I'm in the Blackwood area and around 35-40 FPS inside buildings and towns.

What a lot of peeps do is try to use 2xAA or 4xAA at very high resolutions.

If your card supports it, try the 2xQAA setting. This gives a good AA without the performance hit.

i know thats what we're told but its honestly not true, i can notice my games at 60fps, its why our eyes hurt when looking at a 60Hz CRT monitor.
