GTX 790 and Titan black..

I did see it on a site yesterday but didn't post it because I posted about the Titan Black Edition a while ago. Tom isn't keen on just links being posted either, is there any chance you could even copy and paste the important bits and the pics (as long as there are no stamps of other company logos on them)?

Edit: That sounds very mod-like, hope Tom doesn't mind.

Another Titan? Y u do this Nvidia?

Can't wait to see what the 790 can do :o although it will probably be two underclocked 780Ti's and more expensive than buying them single, the same as with all dual GPU cards.

Doesn't look like Maxwell is coming any time soon though if they are releasing these in Q1.

Rumors of the Titan Black has been floating around for a while now, even before the GTX 780Ti was launched.

The Titan black, if it was ever made would essentially be a 6GB 780Ti with double-precision compute enabled. It will certainly not be worth the extra cost for the user, unless double precision is of interest to you.

As for the GTX 790, the power requirements look low and why does it use a smaller memory buses for more memory than the 780? If such a card were to launch i doubt that that will be the specs.

In all honestly I'd just expect it to be two 770s or at most 780s.
if the 790 is true (the specs indicate BS) I'd imagine the supposed 290x2 (or whatever it'd be called) would be announced as well.

That'd be a card worth considering instead of central heating ;D.

There are rumored specs on Guru3d but like all rumours, you need to take them with a pinch of salt.

Basically it seems like the new "titan" is a rebranded 780Ti with 6gb and improved compute.

I doubt The 790 will be 2x 770, the 690 is 2x 680 and it would basically be around the same as the 690. Saying that though, Nvidia do like releasing cards that are only slightly faster but for more money, so you never know :D

2x 780 or 780Ti sounds more likely, especially if AMD were to release a 290/x x2 Nvidia would lose out if they only did 770 x2.

So it's basically a Titan without the extra CUDA cores shaved off and a black paint job.

Aye, it would be very annoying if Nvidia did that :( . If the price is right though I don't think it would be the end of the world though (as in ~£600).

I forsee that nVidia will do stuff, it will be expensive, and some of you guys will want it. Am I right?

I mean a 2880-core card with 6GB of vram is extremely likely... if it's a 780Ti 6GB or a Titan BE is where it gets interesting. If it's part of the numbered series then you would expect there will be non-reference cards with nuts coolers and epic power delivery hence potential for a bit of a game changer. If its just a reference only Titan BE then it will just be expensive without any true competition amongst partners or competitors and prolly pretty lame tbh. Cool as hell mind but it won't change things for most people.
