ATI Schedules 45nm Production At TSMC For 2008

Apparently, ATI are happy with the current yield results on the 80nm node, and the recently commenced 65nm process. As a result they are now looking toward to the next size reduction. Feel free to comment on the news article below...

45nm should be lower power consumption and therefore less heat so not too sure what that's about

Yeah but the thing is that if a gamer wanted two of these in crossfire mode they couldn't due to the fact that ati have put a stupidly big heatpipes and heatsink on it

cooler has potential for overclocking though

That's actually GeCube's cooler for the X1950 Pro, which utilises the current 80nm process. As Kemp said, 45nm should have a substantially smaller one
