Hitachi Planning Super Data Catridge
Hitachi has raised the bar, yet again. How does 940GB of storage capacity sound at a measly US$340? Hands up who wants one of these babies to house their Simpsons re-runs

That's got to be the greatest idea ever, w00t! I imagine the read/write speed would be far superior to tape backup drives as well. Can't wait to check this stuff out.

Impressive - but how do they react to shock - ie vibration, being dropped or the like?

and what about the speed of it?
any ideas.
Im a boxing fanatic, and have 2 x500gb hdd, and get scared if it crashes. i usually just buy another hdd as means of backup.
this will be great if its not too slow
and when is the release date btw?

Wirelessly posted (LG Fusic: Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/2.0.4719/1372; en; U; ssr))
we need a price and mainstream release date. we should definately be trying to score one of these for review.

No solid release date was given, only that it will appear early 2007

I have a feeling that if the Blu Ray version comes out it won't do well because I think it will be very expensive because Blu Ray is very expensive.
