So 64Bit ONLY and 6GB Ram minimum...(which will be why it's 64bit only) very interesting..

The last time I checked the specs for ghosts, they weren't this insane......

*looks at my rig*
upgrade already :(

it's cod after all....
I think I will wait to see what the game is like before upgrading though...

I know that dedicated servers are on Xbox, but has it been confirmed for PC yet?

40GB? Wut?

I read somewhere about the new Squads part of the MP taking up a lot of space though. But still, CoD 40GB.. even BF4 isn't that big.

That 40GB is probably because they wanted to support high-res textures (like 4k or something rediculous). Seems like IW doesn't know all that much about data compression.

What I noticed though, is that you don't need much CPU power, nor GPU power at all, but you do need 6GBs of RAM? I think this kind of shows that it's time to update that engine...

bear in mind that's MINIMUM spec.

The 40GB will be textures, that's down from the last estimate of 50GB

(Bf3 is now up to around 34gb so... it's not that bad)

6GB will again, be textures.

Rumoured 'recommended/top' spec was 780 don't forget...

I think it's about freaking time they started using more ram, we've had 16GB+ for friggin years now..

Call of Duty: Ghosts™

Now with the newest breakthroughs in DRM technology. We are dedicating 3GB of RAM solely to monitoring every other thread that is running with Call of Duty™, this does not only enable us to identify software pirates of Call of Duty™ games, but will also enable us to find any piece of pirated software on the system of criminals! (it may also help to detect cheaters)
In addition to this, we have programmed a hdd scanner with the latest advancements in heuristic fuzzy pattern matching algorithms to detect any programs that weren't authorized to be on the same computer as Call of Duty: Ghosts™. Including malicious software such as "Stuxnet", "CryptoLocker" and "Battlefield 4". To reliably detect such malicious software, extensive programming patterns with a combined size of about 20GB must be stored together with Call of Duty: Ghosts™ to enable its full potential.

Yeah, maybe for 4k. I'm pretty sure anything 660 Ti/ 7850 or up will max out that game with at least 60FPS on 1080p.

I do think that it's good that games now start using more of the PC, however most gaming rigs are only equiped with 8GB RAM (easy upgrade, but still). It would also be nice that they use more PC power because the game is well-built. Not because it's some crappy 7 year old engine.

Oh they'll know more about data compression than you ever will ;)

Core 2 duo? I have a laptop with that! gts 450? My current paperweight! I'm sorted saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.

In terms of the possibility of super textures in all honesty I was expecting companies to offer 4k textures as DLC... Jesus I think I should get a 512gb ssd or one of those hybrid SSHD things just for my games at this rate if COD is going to take up 40GB. I mean, imagine what the size will be for games such as GTA V if/when it comes to PC :l.
