ASUS Silent Square

Lo Lads

I've gotten sick of running on the stock Intel heatsink; and until I get my wc setup completed I decided to try the ASUS silent square because temps are getting hotter outside - 31 deg C today (Spring). Anyway, I got it installed tonight and I've included some pics for ya.

I'm really impressed with it actually, apart from the ever so slightly fiddly locking mechanism and having to take the mobo out of the case. It idles at around 33 -34 degrees, and after gaming and running dual instances of F@H the temps at load average 40 - 42 deg C. Now I'm gonna start clockin' hehe :rocker:

Edit: Just for interest sake, today my PC reached 60 deg C @ load (PC Probe II) due to the hot day, on the stock heatsink

Looks really good.

I do grow increasingly fearful for the motherboards however, that block seems to even defy Newton`s theories !

It's a beaut for sure and only weighs around 650g. ASUS have made sure that adequate reinforcement is behind the rear of the motherboard and cpu socket too. It'll be up for sale once the wc aspect of my rig is complete lol
