FasterFox

Was just browsing round the firefox plugins and found this, it tweaks all your firefox settings (dont ask how) but I have really seen a difference in speed since installing it. It has preset settings (set it to turbo charged) or you can set it to custom and tweak away.

Download it here...

I definatly reccomend it to anyone using FireFox.

Nice one there. I notice a difference already. I may have to start tweaking myself some.

I too noticed an immediate difference, even on the Optimized setting. I wonder how much it changes though, other than the max number of connections and such that one can tweak manually. Anyway it's a nice and simple way to do that. Thanks for the heads up

yeah ive used this plugin for quite a while, but before it was released, I always did the changes manually to firefox.

me and frag have both written guides on it, but all it does it optimises your bandwidth for broadband, and allows more concurrent connections.

all these settigns can be manually changed in about:config

But why bother Dave if you can get a tool to do it all for you

because i can change them to suit my connection sam, whereas fasterfox is still making assumptions on your bandwidth speed. hence, by doing it manually, mine is that tiny bit faster than fasterfox can make it.
