I Went Wireless !!!

Hey All

I am moving into the loft soon so I needed to get a wireless router as currently I have wires running under the carpet to my downloading rig in the spare room.

Obviously not that I will be going in the loft wires were just not an option so I got hold of a Netgear DG834G real cheap and its working flawlessly wired into my PC but I have bought a Netgear WG111 wireless usb adaptor for my downloading rig. Not to bothered about pings but I just wondered how reliable I should expect the connection from my wireless router in the loft down to a spare bedroom would be. I chose a Netgear one as I have been warned to stay clear of no name dongles so I am hoping it will be ok.

Any thoughts ?

Thanks, Sam

Wow something was wrong with ur gh3ytastic wireless setup then. I don't notice the slightest difference in ping when running wired vs. wireless here in my flat.

Same here. My wireless signal strength is fabulous.

I get a latency of aboyt 12-18, and I'm on wireless - the hop from me to the router is less than 1ms

Wireless sucks. Period. Now way would set my PC up on wireless ever. My parents are on wireless and they just disconnect for no reason - I've looked and I have no idea why.

Wires ftw tbh
