Gta 1

hi.

downloaded gta1 last night but having some trouble with it.

when i play it it goes to slow and its basicly unplayable, if i turn off framerate limiter the game goes way to fast.

anyone else encountered this problem with gta1 ?

any ideas how to solve it ?

Regards

Raven

EDIT:

is there any way to lower the refresh rate to 30hz ?

with the framelimiter off the frames goes up to the refresh rate used in windows.

As in Grand Theft Auto 1? Isn't that a top-down game? You shouldnt be having any gfx issues??

yup its a topdown game.

the problem is the game speed is controlled by the framerate.

with the framerate limiter on i get 6-15fps which is to low to make it playable.

if i turn off the framerate it jumps up to 60 or 75fps which makes the game run twice as fast as it should.

it shouldnt but it does.

i googled around on the problem last night and seems im not alone, however some people have solved it by reducing audio acceleration to basic through dxdiag but didnt work for me.

are there any good programs to record a movie except fraps ?

for some reason frames dropped to 10 when i recorded a movie, even with the resolution down to 320x200x16.

the thought was good but unfortunalty it did not work.

the game did run slower but the framrate dropped to 1-2fps.

will kickstart my old amd32 and se if i can get it running there.
