Supposed Malware Threat

As some of you will know, Google Chrome has been throwing up malware warnings as of earlier this evening. The warning stems from Canard PC, which are the guys that make the CPUID (CPU-Z) validation banners which are found in a lot of users' sigs.
We're not completely sure if this is just a false-positive from Google, or if there's something deeper going on here, but we won't be taking any risks.

Anyone who has such sigs, do not worry. Your sig shall temporarily be changed, and we'd appreciate it if you left them be for now. Your validation banners shall not be lost, as a backup has been made. As soon as this blows over, we'll restore your sigs to their former glory.

If you have such validation banners in your sigs, and they were missed when we replaced them, we'd highly appreciate it if you could edit it yourself.

Regards,
OC3D Staff.

I never got the warning about canard, when I noticed something strange had happened(pop up), I checked the settings in Chrome and found an extension that should not have been there. It was harmless except for the uninstaller. I had just been to the site to grab my stats link for redline.

Hmm. If people are at all worried about this, please run a full system scan with your preferred anti-virus and something like Malwarebytes, too.

From what I can tell from a crudely translated message from CanardPC, the issue was with their own site, but it never went into code which generates the signature banners. However, because it was linked to the Canard website, Google still flagged it all.

At the very least, this is a good excuse for you to do a thorough check for viruses and whatnot.

Yeah i don't think your issue is related or has come from our site Techhead, definitely worth running a scan buddy.

Alright. I removed it myself as soon as it happened. Just wanted to throw it out there given the timing of the canard issue, and that it surfaced while opening a link
in OC3D. Hopefully your right and we will not see any more issues like this.
