i'm not sure if it is me or your server having problems, but you might want to check that out. also i tried to link to overclock3d.net on twitter and they blocked it for phishing.

Nope I got it too! On this very thread even :L

Wanted to post a screenie as well but my warning was in Dutch and no one would understand >_<'

Not sure, but things like this normally happen when YOU have a virus...
Endless stories of N00bs with laptops (Not saying you are) getting this sort of thing have come my way before, and I'm inclined to believe Tom wouldn't do something like this TBH...

Edit : NVM, I feel stupid now, 2 people..?

We're just working on this now. It's a problem with Canard PC - the ones who do the CPUID Forum Sigs to show CPU clocks, etc.
I don't think it's anything to worry about, but be cautious.

this windows installation isnt even a week old and i ain't retarded.
well josh explained it anyways

You can go into Chrome Preferences and on the first page go to advanced settings and shut off phishing and malware detection. I have other software for protection so I normally have the browser internal detection shut off. Somehow it was back on.

I wouldn't advise turning it off guys, it's better to be warned than not.

I've just tried to do an en-masse removal of CPUZ sigs but some are persisting. We're trying out best to resolve this, but if cpuz has got some dodgy code on it, google will be one of the first to flag it up.

Better safe than sorry.

In the meantime, ANYONE who has one of the sigs, please remove it if it was missed.
Many Thanks

I got hit while visiting a folding thread. Extension was added to Chrome that I never allowed. Uninstaller was key logger if I remember correctly.

It was appearing on any thread where someone had a CPUID sig Techhead, I'm not sure it actually installed anything however.. Most believe it was a false positive, but they could be wrong.

I've manually removed all CPUID sigs from forums for now, at least until this blows over.

I have other ways to catch it and none of them hit on it, just Chrome did. I'm wondering if Google did an update and caused this, since I had it off in Chrome and it got turned back on. I'm super safe.

Chrome started being a bit of pain for me after installing Catalyst 13.2 beta 3 massive memory leaks leading to lagging video. Just installed beta 4 hoping it was fixed. Haven't gotten any of this odd malware ahead crap though usually only happens when watching pr0n :(
