Well, lets see. The Asus Deluxe isn't a bad motherboard, go for it if you can afford it.

The 3800+ is a great clocker, so yet again, go for it if you can afford it.

As for the sound card, I dont think you need something *that* high end, an Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS wld be better imo. The Xfi's have crackling issues, etc. As for XP-Home, Newegg.com has it pretty cheap.

As for the 3700+, prolly around $100.

You can get all the parts + XP Home at Newegg.com Good luck!

Nick

Meh, screw SoundBlaster all together, u can get the X-Mystique dirt cheap now that the X-Plosion is out. That's your best bet mate.

And why move from XP Pro to Home? Don't like the 64 bit edition (neither did I, but I used it a LOOOONG time ago before there was support for any of the hardware).

well i bought a 7600gt ko for this new comp and ive been getting very bad performance out of it. i believe it has to do with the 64bit windows. in call of duty2 i play in dx7 and i average about 60-70 fps with jolts sometimes as low as 15 and as high as 350. its very wierd and confuzing. though im ed about paying $90 for a dam operation system its prob the best way for the comp.
