Weird flickering issue with gtx 670

hi guise, I have noticed this flickering thing since instaling my new card a few days ago.

It is a brand new Asus gtx 6790 DCUII TOP card.

it is not overclocked, and temps (this was in that massive heatwave - room temps were about 29 degrees) exceed 70 degrees

I have latest drivers; 301.42

I actually first noticed it on heaven, but it is harder than bf3 to see. (although irl, it is very visible)

It is a slightly different problem in heaven. The outer edges of objects seem to be moving or shimmering.

Here are some actual times for the above video, so you know exactly where I am talking about:

0:04

-the top left corner, the far pillar - shadows flickering

0:20

-the wood is flickering, and the shadows on the rope

0:29

-if you look closely, the whole structure is flickering slightly

0:30

-the top of the right side step edges

0:40

-just below top of roof

0:45

-the curved metallic bit (hence i zoomed on it)

0:52

-pretty much the whole screen, again hence zoom

thanks

It is pretty simple.

Look at the videos, and tell me if the 'artefacts' arethe fault of the card, or just the software itself.

Not sure why at least 1 person out of 47 couldn't respond..

No offence

No offence, but no one has to reply, we don't get paid for this tech support, you know

Apparently, the flickering is a know issue with the 670s and it's supposed to be fixed in the next driver release, from what I have read anyway.

@ elder

Nope :/ figured latest would be best bet

@ sieb

Yes for sure, sorry, did not mean to sound condescending or anything

ould you mind telling me where you heard this?

Thanks

Well, how do we know if the 47 views weren't just from you

.

I'm pretty sure it isn't drivers, as I have seen many a 7850 and 7950 with the same issue on heaven and BF3 especially. I hope to god it is an issue with the software because i'm getting that card from scan tomorrow

oh right. well be sure to report back if the same occurs in heaven with you

This also happens in BF3 with my 7950 although haven't seen it in heaven. I will run again just to check though.

I don't think this is the problem but apparently the transparency for something is coming in 12.5 If you have a 7000 series with minecraft ultra shaders you will know what I'm talking about (transparent objects being white)
