Pretty simple question tbh. Would you miss the news if we binned it off and utilised that area on the front page for competitions, box openings, quick videos and staff hardware projects ect ect.

You could feed it into the forums instead mate, or if you have the IP Content plugin for the forum, utilise the articles system that comes with that in a different section of the forums. But i wouldn't miss it, it is handy but may be better off moving it instead of binning IMO
EDIT: sorry i thought you where talking about the news part on main homepage

It's nice to have a news section but if losing it means new features and content i'm ok with it.

Forums is fine within reason, but too many members are just spamming links to other sites. This has to stop. I need to keep the front page looking fresh and having content people will read.
News has NEVER been this for us and Im fed up with showing people how to use the site, and people always want paying for fortune for doing SFA.
Money would be better spent on reviews so Im honestly about 80% certain its going. Just wanted to get a response here first.

One thing i have learnt is, do what you feel is best for the site. I come here for the reviews and to see what other people post about and other peoples rigs and ideas, i tend to skip over the news section, theres only one or 2 things in the past on it that have caught my eye.
EDIT: IP board is a powerful tool now, with lots of things you can do to keep an eye on the linking issues you are having. And the people that bitch and moan about stuff like that (and i bet for a fact there will be) should appreciate your decision

I wouldn't miss it, but I do find it useful to keep up to date with the latest happenings. But I do seem to use it less now due to the spamming that goes on.

I would not miss it. I have not used the News section a ton just followed a couple of threads like the More Kepler Info thread. But from what you have said that would replace it I am ok with it! It would be awesome to have a thread just for competitions and such.
