We tend to be skeptical about AMD or NVIDIA claiming stellar overclocking capabilities of their upcoming GPUs, but this time, it seems AMD wasn't playing the same old PR games. Sapphire is readying a non-reference design HD 7970 graphics card that boasts of 1335 MHz GPU clock speed. Out of the box

This is also supposed to come with 6gb of RAM as well

If it still has overclock head room as well this will be one awesome card.

I read somewhere, I think it was Aria but i'm not sure that 7970s at 1300mhz+ were closing in on 590s performance wise, I haven't seen any proof of it though I just remember reading it.

Wow, some staggering numbers. If it is close to 590 performance, then it is sure to sell like hot cakes .

its 3gb says right on that tech paper 3072mb. anyway imagine if we see one of sapphires famous super dual cards a 7990 liquid cooled with a base clock of the same 1355mhz! a dream come true!

I agree with Tom when, I hope these new generation of cards bring them back in the game to give Nvidia something to worry about.
