Asus Xonar Essence One

hey everyone

this christmas I decided to treat myself and purchase an essence one dac with some shure srh 940s, Im still working things out with the settings

but the dac performs really well with the speakers. But I just connect my z5500s to the dac through the 3.5mm and it sounds really good aswell but is the actual dac doing the processing or the is the z5500 pod? or should I just leave the z5500s on the optical cable and just leave the dac for the headphones?
