Hi!

Corsair xms3 1333MHz 2x2GB v3.13, any who know of any who has overclocked these alittle? it is on a gigabyte 870a-ud3 if that has any meaning.

It isnt any point uppgrading my ram, is it?

Im beginning to get a grasp on cpu clocking, next step ram, so i realy need some advice

Ive had a good nose around this forum about Ocing ram and it seems either no ones how to do it or the effort isnt worth the return (which is probably why no one has tinkered with it).

TBH as long as your ram is doing what you need it to do and you not running out of it, then you might as well leave it as is

FWIW, i have 12Gb of what youve got, and my i7 920 is sitting happily @4Ghz

Well its a little wrong to say your *CPU* is sat at 4ghz and not stating what your bclk or mem is running at.

TBH if you know what you are doing with cpu clocking then you just manually set the volts and timings then up the bus speed which will in turn up the memory clock. Its all mega simple when you get in there and have a play. Just dont expect any massive changes.

tinytomlogan: When adjusting multi. and buss, is it just the final outcome that matters? Or is it at difference on a 1333MHz on: x x 200buss=1333 and

x x 230buss=1333 if the answer is the same? Or a NB on 2000MHz using buss 227 x 9 vs buss 200 x 10? I never seems to get an straigth answer on that one, perhaps my english is to bad so zero understand what i mean, haha!

my bad, i thought Filla meant oveclockicng ram by adjusting the latency timings etc

what works for me is going 20x on the multiplier x200 bclk, then selecting the Mhz that closest to your 1333 ram speed, i think i took the closest option below stock mhz, thats probably the most basic overclocking you can do (obviously adding a bit of extra voltage to the cpu)

there is no harm in looking at finding a multiplier/bclk that gives you a Ram speed that matches your RAM spot on, its just how much time you want to spend tweeking. if you get to a setting that you happy with and you dont feel comfortable/comfident pushing it further then just leave it at that

just for fun, i changed the timings on my Corsair xms3 1333MHz, and it is stable it seems. 6,8,6,20,27,1t. They are original 9,9,9,9,34.

Do this improve my ram if i got it stable? im looking through these benchmark programs, is it a free program witch i can test my performance of cpu and memmory? Im curious on what impact changing the timings will have, as well as seeing the diffrent running on 3.7GHz just whit a diffrent formula whit a MUTCH higer bus.

ok, the 6,8,6 etc was stable it seems, but performancetest 7.0 says it performs alittle slower than on original timings..hehe
