guys and gals, i need you collective expertise!

im gonna build a gaming rig from scratch soon and the outcome of this thread will determine what way i go...

I own a D0 stepping version of a i7 920, but my system CONSTANTLY crashes with BSOD!

error code all the time ( never changes ) is " a clock inturrupt was not recieved on a secondary processor..."

STOP! 0x00000101.

trawling through the web it points at BIOS locking the processor ( i have latest version, and have reflashed several times )

temperature ( ran every stess, temp, u name it test at it over night and nothing, it sits at 69 degrees on the hottest core )

Hardware conflict.. tried with diff HDD, GPU cards, and still get it.

my motherboard is crap beyond all description, like if a 5 year old cut out the back of a cereal packet, scrawled the world "MUVVERBORD" across it in pencil, it would STILL be better than what i have, so im thinking this could be the issue?

IF the general opinion is that the processor is FINE, im gonna use it in my new build

IF the general opinion is that the processor has gone to that great white pc in the sky then i intend to go 2600k sandybridge.

your help is appreciated.

Obvious first question is obvious. Manufacturer/model number of the board you're using?

"secondary processor" in the error message says to me there's something set wrong.

Well there's your problem! Your board is most likely dead or dying...

The error message could be to do with incorrect power flow to the processor - maybe a cap is dead... Get a new board
