If you fancy the incredible quality of the SteelSeries 7G, but can't afford the price, maybe the 6Gv2 is the Keyboard for you.

Hey, I've been on these forums replying to every single keyboard post saying get the 6Gv2, but everyone keeps leaning their decision to Logitech.

I've had the 7G for almost a year now and can honestly say the thing is top-notch. If you aren't going to spend that much money then get this one (6Gv2). It's worth every penny and will last you, what seems like, a life-time.

Does the 'steel' button act as a windows key during normal usage? Lack of a windows key would unfortunately drive me mad, use many of the shortcuts it offers countless times a day.

No, it doesn't work as "Windows" key; it enables the 4 Multimedia keys (Steel+F1 to Steel+F4). Anyways, the Steelseries 6G v2 does have a Windows key on the right side.

I have this keyboard for 8 months now - bought last Christmas -, and I can't be happier! 8 months old and it looks just like brand new! I'm a really heavy gamer, really, I play a lot and usually, the keyboards WASD, Shift and Ctrl (Strg) keys letters disappear in 3 months, like in my old Roccat Valo keyboard. This sucks and looks really ugly too. Fortunately, Roccat sent me a replacement set of those 6 keys for free but, not every company does that, right.

Now, I use only the 6Gv2 for playing FPS and RPG games.

I must add the 6Gv2 doesn't have macro keys and so, if you play MMO games like WoW and you use/need a bunch of macros, this keyboard is not the best option for you.

As I posted before, I got the 6Gv2 last year and the keys - all the keyboard, for that matter - are still perfect! 6Gv2 (and 7G) really is a keyboard meant for WAR!

Johnny
