Hi guys,

IVe just upgraded my 8800gt to a 5850.

I've also updated my Amd athlon x2 6400+ (3.2ghz) to a phenom ii x6 1100t

I've gone from 3gb memory to 8gb.

Also gone to a carviar black from a crappy old hd.

I just ran heaven benchmark and I'm still gettin around the same score.

However when I run Crysis I'm getting 40fps maxed out, with my old system I got about 23 on very high with no AA.

Any ideas why my heaven score has not increased?

Unigine Heaven is most definitely biased towards Nvidia gpu's, so don't be surprised to see low results on AMD gpu's.

Basically what DB006 said, Nvidia cards are much better at DX11 than AMD cards they also have higher minimum frame rates.

Even if you overclock your card you wouldn't get a much better score, also remember that benchmarks do not reflect real life performance so you might not get a good score in Heaven but it doesn't mean you won't max out games.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm not too bothered about benchmark scores as long as I can max out my games which was the purpose of my upgrade then it's not a prob, just abit puzzling that's all

the 5850 doesn't have dedicated tesselation engine. Unigine has alot of tesselation
