Just curious why its a 3 slot solution,other new non-ref designs are 2 slots

To stop people from buying the Gigabyte P67 UD-7 for its x16/x16 SLI configuration. As an added bonus it cools better allowing for better overclocks, therefore better performance.

Also the 580 is a high end card so it doesn't really need SLI for most games.

i had 2 different cards using the old version (HD5850 & GTX460) and both ran hotter and louder than ref design

would be interesting to see how these are
