Budget around 1000 (in euro )

Used for gaming mainly

What Cooler and GPU should i go for instead (although 6970 did not seem bad at all )

Your money is better spent on a 570 for sure.

And an NH-D14 cooler would be your best investment.

A cheaper Noctua? Honestly I'm not entirely sure on that one, of course I forgot to ask the all important question for the cooler, will you be planning on overclocking?

Yes i was, does not have to be a noctua, just a well performing (but slightly cheaper) cooler. If you know any of course.

Appreciate the advice.

This is the next best from Noctua: My link

If that's too expensive then tinytomlogan used this cooler in a Home server with a light overclock: My link

and I believe that second cooler gave good temps, bear in mind this was an i3 he overclocked.
